Over-the-knee boots: Pretty woman or pretty awesome?

As the over-the-knee boot (OTK) has descended upon us again this Autumn, I can’t help but be reminded of Julia Roberts and her latex hooker heels (with particular reference to a few of the Christian Louboutin styles that are out there).

Yet Victoria Beckham, along with many other celebs have been sporting the OTK look for a while now, and I have to say I am pretty impressed. A once trashy hooker boot has been transformed into a classic trend, ever since Mrs Beckham herself exhibited a pair during Fashion Week back in 2009.

Although Mrs B opted for her trademark stiletto heel – and unlike me, isn’t too afraid to attract attention to herself (in a pair of these boots you certainly do) – I have selected some of my more subtle favourites. More practical for those of us who don’t possess a wardrobe similar to VB’s.

Russell & Bromley

50-50: £395

This OTK will keep you cosy right up to your thighs this winter with its timeless on-trend silhouette.

PIXIE: £345

Similar to the above, this OTK provides both comfort and style and features a statement gold heel.

Prefer the high heel option? Then take a look at these OTK beaut’s.

TOTTON: £159

This OTK leather riding boot is one of my practical favourites (also available in brown).

These Dune OTK’s resemble the fabulous pair Nicole Scherzinger was snapped wearing at the Topshop launch earlier this year.

Kurt Geiger

This contrasting suede and leather OTK is perfect for the colder season, again rocking both the style and comfort attributes of a good winter boot.

VERDICT: Pretty awesome!
